Honor Band 6 Launched With A Full-Screen Display

Huawei’s sub-brand Honor has officially launched Honor Band 6 as the world’s first fitness tracker with a full-screen display. It narrows the gap between a smartband and a smartwatch. It comes in two variants, with and without NFC. The design of this wearable is unlike its predecessors.

Honor’s latest band line up member is a big step up from the last year’s model. It comes with Bluetooth 5.0 as compared to Bluetooth 4.2 in Honor Band 5. The new Honor Band 6 brings a 1.47-inch AMOLED panel with a 194 x 368-pixel resolution and 2.5D curved glass. Considering the significant screen size, it can also be regarded as a smartwatch.

The Honor Band 6 is broader and thicker than its predecessor though it appears to be several millimeters shorter. It includes all the basic sensors, including a heart-rate monitor, blood oxygen monitor (SPO2), and women’s health management. It also offers activity tracking for ten different sports with automatic detection and is waterproof up to 50-meter depths. Honor has also upgraded the battery capacity to 180 mAh. It charges via a fast magnetic charger and can give 14 days of battery backup. Also, the fast charging gives you two days of battery backup with just 5 minutes of charge.

The Honor Band 6 will retail for CNY 249 ($37), while the NFC equipped model will go for CNY 289 ($43). Pre-orders in China start tomorrow at midnight, while official sales begin next week on November 11. International availability details have not been announced yet.
